After completing a BA with honors in Fine Art at Newport college of Art, I practiced as an artist in Cardiff for over ten years. I worked with several innovative leading arts organisations, as well as initiating arts groups voluntarily. I completed three months life drawing study at the Richard Hamilton Studio in Florence and eight months in Pietra Santa at the Sculpture Foundry. In 2000 I moved to West Wales. I have worked as an Art Tutor with Aberystwyth University Lifelong learning and Coleg Ceredigion for the last nineteen years. I have just completed an MA in Fine Art at Aberystwyth School of Art.
My mixed media works and drawings are an exploration of a language I am developing. My approach is process driven and rooted in emotion and intuition. I build structures and work with materials in an attempt to reveal edges, the tenderness of them and the spaces between them, in search of the simplest of pictorial solutions.
